Previously marked as Brocchinia sp. stiff pointed leaves. Similar in size and appearance to B. hechtioides, but this lowland Brocchinia has, among other distinguishing features, stiff, pointed leaves and a highly branched inflorescence. Brocchinia steyermarkii is a large terrestrial bromeliad native to the lowlands of southern Venezuela, particularly the sandy plains of the Gran Sabana. It forms a dense rosette of long, narrow, pointed green leaves and can reach a considerable size when mature. The species is associated with the distinctive vegetation of the region and is often found growing on exposed, nutrient-poor sandy plains at lower elevations. The price quoted is for one portion; each portion contains 1+ plants, with plants at least 5-15 cm tall.
