As the name indicates, this species has pitchers, which are furry and soft to the touch. In its natural habitat it dwells on the forest floor, often beneath thick jungle canopy, so has adapted to relatively low light conditions. Easy to grow and quite variable in colouration, although it does exhibit a relatively uniform and district pitcher shape.
