Originating from Sumatra, Indonesia, this species grows in a range of altitudes between about 300m and 1,100m, making it tolerant of a wide range of temperatures. It grows terrestrially in submontane forests, so in order to be able to flower successfully, it has to climb to the forest canopy. This means it’s a fast grower, resulting in soft leaves and pitchers, since, in general, the harder a species is, the slower it grows. This item was supplied to us as a single clone, and as expected, we find it to be extremely vigorous. So far, we’ve not grown one out to see mature pitchers, so we can only show juvenile plants and pitchers here, but it’s clearly a nice, colourful clone. History: First introduced in Sept 2016.
Climate: 'Intermediate', which means it will flourish in a wide range of temperatures. We have tested it from 12 - 32 deg. C (54 - 90 deg. F), although it will tolerate temperatures outside this range.
