This beautiful and very hairy species has cylindrical lower pitchers and funnel shaped upper pitchers. The first ever photo of it was taken near the summit of Bukit Pagon, in Brunei, in 1985 and it was formally described as Nepenthes hurrelliana in 2003. However, more recent research has shown it to be the same species that was originally described in 1948 by Danser as Nepenthes mollis. Once this species has reached our typical sale size, it’s not difficult to grow, although it is rather slow and may be regarded as a connoisseur’s plant.
History: First introduced in July 2022.
Climate: Highland. We grow it between about 26 deg. C (80 deg. F) in the daytime, down to 12 deg. C (54 deg. F) at night, although it will certainly tolerate temperatures well outside this range.
