As half of the cross is Nepenthes rajah, it’s going to have size and some scalloping to the peristome. The Nepenthes veitchii component will contribute to the peristome width and Nepenthes chaniana will surely influence the colouration. All three combined give it fascinating potential and although we don’t yet have fully mature plants, we’re watching with excitement as our specimen plants grow up. Since all three parent species are Bornean endemics, it’s quite likely that although Nepenthes chaniana is somewhat geographically remote from the other two species, this hybrid may have occurred naturally at some point in the distant past. History: First introduced in March 2025.
Climate: 'Highland'. We grow it between about 26 deg. C (80 deg. F) in the daytime, down to 12 deg. C (54 deg. F) at night, although it will certainly tolerate temperatures well outside this range.
